Moreton Under 12’s Vs Wednesfield Football Report

This was our first game back after the winter break and we were missing a couple of key players but this did not seem to affect the lads at all!

Moreton went on the attack from the start, led from the back by the captain A.Lees, his leadership skills really shone through.

The team didn’t let up for the majority of the first half, applying pressure and firing shots at the Wednesfield goal relentlessly. However, their keeper was brilliant, with catlike reflexes he kept them in the game. At one point diving to the top corner to stop F.Gibbons scoring a great goal.

Wednesfield made some changes at half time and they were stronger after the break with their striker blasting the ball over the crossbar from 2 meters away.

With 10 minutes left, A.Lees played a through ball into the pacey A.Bennetts’ path. He was able to fire a great shot cross goal into the bottom right corner.

For the last 10 minutes Moreton were back on top but couldn’t grab any more goals.

A great performance from all the lads.

Please say well done to them as this was their first win of the season and on home soil!

Moreton 1 – 0 Wednesfield
