Wolverhampton Young Citizen of the Year Awards 2021
Do you know someone who has gone the extra mile – whose personal courage, care for others, achievement or contribution to the community should be recognised and celebrated? If so, why not nominate them for a Wolverhampton Young Citizen of the Year Award?
Dear Parents/ Carers
WOLVERHAMPTON YOUNG CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2021
The above awards, now in their eighth year, recognise young people who have gone the extra mile to help others or demonstrate good citizenship. Nominees must either live, learn or work in Wolverhampton. There are two age groups :13 -18 and those aged 19 -25.
Parents know most about the acts of kindness and good citizenship that young people do in their community. Therefore, I am writing to encourage you to nominate any young person who deserves recognition. The closing date is 31 May. The previous winner was a Student of Moreton School.
These annual awards are run by Rotary Clubs across the country. The Wolverhampton awards are funded by the five Rotary Clubs in the City who devised them. They are run in partnership with the list of partners at the foot of this letter including the Express and Star who publish the finalists, the City Council, and Wolverhampton Wanderers Foundation. Every year the Mayor is one of the judges. Other judges comprise representatives from the Rotary Clubs and their partners.
The awards ceremony is held in the Mayoral Suite in early July where finalists, families and guests celebrate their success. It is a lovely occasion.
More details about the awards and how to nominate can be found at www.wolverhamptonyoungcitizen.org.uk Please nominate our young people who deserve to be recognised for their acts of kindness and good citizenship. I am sure that a lot of them have gone the extra mile to help others during this terrible pandemic year and a nomination is a way of saying thank you.
Yours sincerely
