Moreton Sporting Update
It’s been a while since we posted about our sporting superstars so here is an update on a few of the events that have happened in the last couple of weeks as there have been some amazing results:
Year 9/10 Boys Volleyball – We took two teams along to this tournament to play against schools from across the City, both teams competed strongly with one team finishing 2nd out of all the teams in the City and leaving the event very proudly wearing their silver medals. This means that as they finished in the top two they are now representing Wolverhampton in the Black Country School Games Finals in a couple of weeks.
Year 9/10 Girls Volleyball – again we took two teams along to this tournament against schools from across the City with both teams competing well. One team managed to secure 3rd place out of all the teams entered and have been showing their medals around school.
Year 7 Sports Hall Athletics – we entered a full boys team and a full girls team for this fixture against other schools from across the City. The teams were quick to pick up the new events and competed exceptionally well in the Track events on occasions winning our heats. The girls team managed to secure a top 10 finish out of all the girls teams entered! We also took 2 Year 10 leaders along who helped time and organise the Track events for the whole City and were exceptional role models!
Year 7/8 Girls Football tournament – on Wednesday we hosted Aldersley in a Girls Friendly Tournament in conjunction with National Girls Football day. We managed to field 3 teams with 17 girls in total coming along to participate. The girls all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and showed resilience during every match and are now signing up to attend Football club every week so they can get more fixtures next year!
The School and the Sports department are incredibly proud of all those involved.
Thanks again for all your support!
