Commonwealth Connections – Chaskele
On the 30th March Moreton School hosted the second cluster event for Wolverhampton, Walsall and Ghana for the Commonwealth Connection Project. Whereby the change makers from the 6 schools within the cluster, along with the Commonwealth medallist Steve Frew, come together and took part in team building exercises, leadership development and gained knowledge and practical skills with the Ghanaian game of Chaskele. The pupils also got the opportunity to interact with their Ghanaian counterparts, watching videos and Q&A opportunities sent to us from Dawhenya Methodist ‘B’ Basic School pupils, as well as the Pupils showcasing a match of Chaskele.
Moreton change makers helped run the event with Mrs Banks leading the sessions and teaching the change makers from Palfred Junior school, Wilkinson Primary School, Leamore Primary School, Oakmeadow CE Primary School and Orimiston Shelfield the game of Chaskele.
