To all Moreton Parents and Students
Dear Parents/Carers,
It is with a mixture of emotions that I write to inform you that I will leave Moreton at the end of this term to take up a new post as Headteacher of Aldersley High School. I have loved every minute of time at Moreton; it is a very special school, serving a wonderful community. I am very proud of everything that we have achieved together over the last six years; the brilliant Ofsted report, the British Council International Award and being selected as the flagship school for the Commonwealth Games are amongst the many highlights. Most of all, I am so proud of the students and staff that make Moreton such a warm, welcoming and inclusive place to spend our days. I have never worked anywhere that has such an infectious joy.
I am sure that you will join me in welcoming Mark Hignett to the role of Head of School on secondment next academic year. You will be familiar with him through his work as Deputy Headteacher for conduct this year. I cannot think of anyone better to lead the school through the next phase of its journey; he embodies our shared values of Be Prepared, Show Respect and Challenge Yourself in all aspects of his life. He will be holding assemblies with all students next week and will write to you shortly to confirm arrangements for the new academic year.
Finally, thank you all for the support that you have given me throughout the last 6 years. I wish you and your families all the very best for the future.
A part of my heart will always be Team Moreton.
Yours sincerely,
Nicola Bayliss
Headteacher
