Year 7 Return to School Information
Dear Parent/Carer,
I hope you and your families have had an enjoyable summer break. As we enter into September I would like to provide you with some further details to ensure a smooth and enjoyable start for you and your child at Moreton School.
The first day for Year 7 is Tuesday 6th September and your child is expected to attend in full Moreton uniform. The School website contains all the information regarding uniform.
School Uniform – Moreton School (aatrust.co.uk)
Please ensure that your child is punctual to school and arrives in plenty of time for 8.40 when they will be welcomed by Mr Blower and myself. Your child will spend the morning with their form tutor, studying their new timetables, touring the school for their new classrooms and getting accustomed to life at secondary school. Pupils will attend their timetabled lessons after lunch. Pupils will not need their PE kit on the first day, but please check your child’s timetable so that they are aware of when they will need to bring it into school.
One of our school principles is ‘Be Prepared’ and we would also like to remind pupils that they must bring the following items everyday:
- Stationary kit (Pen, Pencil, Rubber & Ruler)
- School ID badge and Lanyard
- PE kit (as per your childs timetable)
- Drink or a water bottle which they can fill from the water coolers in school.
- Packed lunch and possible breaktime snack (unless purchasing food from school diner)
During your child’s first week at Moreton, they will be added onto our school catering system and a letter with your Parent Pay details will be issued. On Tuesday your child will be issued with a PIN to allow them to place money onto their account using the machine we have in school. This will enable your child to purchase food from the school diner and gives you a little more time to access and set up your Parent Pay account.
Going forward we would recommend using the Parent Pay account to place money onto your child’s account, rather than bringing money into school in case it gets lost. Pupils who are eligible for free school meals will be able to have a meal deal every day which consists of sandwich or hot meal, snack and a drink.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me; vrobertson@aatrust.co.uk
I look forward to welcoming your child to Moreton School.
