Headteacher Appointment at Moreton School
Dear Parents and carers.
The Governors are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Ben Dumayne as the new Headteacher of Moreton School.
During a rigorous selection process involving staff, pupils, Governors and representatives of the Trust, Mr Dumayne stood out as an exceptional candidate to all those involved, and was the clear and unanimous choice of all members of the selection panel.
Mr Dumayne is currently Head of School at Newtown High School in Powys. He will be joining us in January 2023 and during the Autumn Term Mr Mark Hignett will continue to be acting as Headteacher of the school. Mr Hignett is the highly regarded Deputy Headteacher at Moreton School and has done an excellent job since September of maintaining the high standards of Moreton School. Mr Hignett and Mr Dumayne will be in close communication over the coming months to ensure a successful handover in January. Mr Hignett will return to his role as Deputy Headteacher. I would like to publicly thank Mr Hignett for the excellent job that he has done this term on behalf of yourselves, staff, governors and of course students.
With Mr Dumayne’ s appointment we can be very optimistic about a strong, stable and successful future for the school and I know that he is already looking forward to meeting with parents and students and sharing his vision for the future.
Yours sincerely
Nicola Licata
